Mia and Rob – what a special pair. A couple of years ago, Rob approached me and asked if I would secretly photograph his proposal to his unsuspecting love, Mia. I had known Robert for a little while but had never met Mia. So naturally, I felt like a stalker when I accepted the job. This was definitely a nerve filled experience but it was just beautiful. This kind of emotion cannot be faked or forced. It happened before my eyes and I took it all in. It was beautiful. The world around them disappeared and they became one. Completely.
Step forward to November 2016 and you arrive at their wedding. Getting ready together in their city based home – built from their hearts and their minds, surrounded by those they love, including their cute lil’ iggy’s. I loved this. There was no pressure or nervous energy. Just comfort and excitement that they would soon be husband and wife.
This was definitely one of the most emotional weddings I have ever been to. I cry at most. But this one really struck me. It all took me by surprise and was a big reminder that we all need to appreciate our close relationships. Tell your mum, your dad, your sister, your brother that you love them. Say again to your friends, that they mean the world to you. It is so easy to do. So easy but often overlooked…
These guys were incredible. I loved hanging out with them, and their families. I met some very special people and had some conversations that will stay with me – probably forever. I am always so grateful that I get to do the work I do. Mainly because I get to spend time with people like these who remind me what love is and who demonstrate what is really important in life. I wouldn’t trade this gig for anything.
Thanks guys – you are amazing.
Amore e pace
