Love can teach us so many things about life. The way we treat others and ourselves. The way in which we choose to spend our time. And what we focus on and put our energy into. Spending a day with two people as they prepare to exchange vows and declare their intentions to one another is an incredible and humbling experience. Couples let me into their hearts and their souls for this one day – to capture what would otherwise be moments and memories. Photography is magical that way. Whether it’s photographing your children, your grandparents, or light and shade on a wall. It’s all real life and it all matters. These moments are what makes us all unique. What makes up our souls and who we are in love. They are precious.
What we can learn from love is invaluable. Love challenges us to step outside our comfort zone and take risks. It shows us that having materialistic luxuries means shit. It teaches us that having an open heart that is open to heart break is the most beautiful and exciting way to live.
I hear people speak from their heart to and about people they call family, people they have grown up with and people they have just married. It never gets old and I am so grateful that I get to witness these words. Hayley and Stuart. Thank you for having me there to capture your beautiful, sun shining wedding day. It was an absolute pleasure and I genuinely loved hanging out with you both.
